British MPs Call for World Court Ruling on Iraq War

July 26, 2004

LONDON (Reuters) - Forty British parliamentarians have asked U.N Secretary-General Kofi Annan to seek the opinion of the U.N.'s International Court of Justice on the legality of the Iraq war, the Daily Mirror newspaper reported on Monday.

It said that the cross-party group, which had written a letter to Annan dated July 20, believes Prime Minister Tony Blair's government breached the U.N.'s charter when it joined the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. The letter asked for an "advisory opinion" from the court in the Hague.

Democrats in the U.S. have also asked the U.N. body to monitor U.S. elections.

"Lots of people have concerns about the legitimacy of the war and it seems we do need to have clarification on this," said Alan Simpson, an MP from Blair's own ruling Labour party, who is leading the group. Why? They didn't care to have 'clarification' when Saddam and his regime were raping and slaughtering Iraqis and filling mass graves. Why should it be any of their business now?

The British public has long been suspicious of the motives behind the invasion of Iraq and a report earlier this month by former civil servant Lord Butler has given Blair's critics fresh ammunition to question his credibility.

Butler cleared Blair of distorting spies' assessments on Iraq but exposed faulty intelligence. [for trusting in Muslims for the info, whose interests do not lie with western culture] He criticized Blair's informal style of government and its closeness to secret agents.

The parliamentarians' letter to Annan said: "It is clear that, in Britain and the United States, war was justified on the basis of intelligence reports of current and serious threats from weapons of mass destruction, purportedly held by Iraq, all of which turned out to be without foundation."

"We look to the court for an advisory opinion on this war, not only to address the casualties [then let them begin with the mass graves] and damage done to the people and country of Iraq [is 'democracy' a damage? If so, why do those forty feel they have any right to voice their opinions?], but also to offer clear guidelines for the future about the legality of pre-emptive wars."  Let us ALL condemn 'pre-emptive' wars!

With that being said...let us ALL begin with the Koran:

004.094 O ye who believe! When ye go abroad in the cause of Allah, investigate carefully, and say not to any one who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a believer!" coveting the perishable goods of this life: Even thus were ye yourselves before, till Allah conferred on you His favours: Therefore carefully investigate.

004.089 They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks;

004.090 Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).

Question: Are Muslims allowed to make treaties of peace with 'infidels'?---YES! if done so in the "cause of their allah" - but then - they are commanded to attack after they expire}

009.004 (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term.

009.005 But when the forbidden months are past [when the 'treaties' end], then fight and slay the Pagans ''''wherever'''' ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war.

009.029 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [Violent Discrimination?] These commands violate 'international laws' Do they not?

 008.067 It is not fitting for a prophet that he should have prisoners of war [slay them] until he hath thoroughly subdued the land.  [pre-emptive war?]

047.004 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks. [Behead them] [That includes ALL who believe in the Son of God} 009.030} Allah's curse be on them  037.152} they are liars! 019.089} Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!

Let those forty British parliamentarians and the U.S. Democrats...all of them.... take these very influential commands [influential that is -- world-wide] to the U.N.'s International Court of 'Justice'...to get their opinion.
